Meet the InkSplasher
Karlene Browning loves books! She loves reading them, talking about them, and making them shine. In fact, she is so enamored with books that she has requested her headstone simply read, “The woman who loved books.”
Karlene has worked in the publishing industry since the mid-1980s. She has owned a niche publishing company, acted as acquisitions editor for other publishers, worked for and with multiple printers and book presses, and even worked the sales side as assistant manager of a bookstore.
InkSplasher.com is a collection of tips and how-to for indie authors and small presses—featuring everything Karlene has learned over her years in the industry. She’s had an active hand in everything, including writing, editing, typesetting/formatting, cover design, website design, marketing and social media for both herself and clients.
Karlene also shares her tips via online courses and workshops at writing conferences, such as LDSPMA, ANWA, Write Here in Ephraim, Indie Author Hub, and others. If you’d like to schedule Karlene to speak at your conference or event, contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When Karlene is not actively engaging in book-related activities, she loves hanging out with her husband in a sheltered little valley within the Rocky Mountains. Her hobbies are reading (of course) and playing with her seven grandchildren, graciously provided by her four adult children.
